"As an Event and Wedding Planner and the Social Event Manager of a large resort, I have had the pleasure of working with many of Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties best event vendors over the years. Although the list of the area's talent is long, there are only a handful of DJs that I have recommended to my clients again and again. Chris Cali and his company, Cali Entertainment, are among those very few. From a planner's perspective, you can't ask for more of a professional than what the DJs at Cali Entertainment have to offer. Recently, I had the opportunity to experience planning a wedding from "the other side of the fence" when I planned my own wedding for New Year's Eve 2008. My choice for a DJ was an easy one. I immediately called Chris Cali, and I am so glad that I did. He was so easy to work with and I never had to worry about a thing! I think some couples underestimate the job of a DJ or the importance of having a professional one who can successfully run a wedding. Chris could read our guests, kept us on track according to our timeline and set the tone for our entire event and kept the party going for 8 1/2 HOURS!!!! I was so worried before the wedding that it would be too long and that my guests would leave before the midnight countdown. As it turns out, I shouldn't have given it a second thought as many of my guests even said that they could have kept on going for another 3 hours! Even my husband's 84 year old Grandma was still on the dance floor for the last dance! Moreover, people are still emphatically talking about our wedding - 10 months later! - saying it was the best and the most fun wedding they have ever been to! I know that the cost of a wedding can be daunting but I have always told my clients that the last place I would cut corners is on the DJ, and now more than ever I stand behind that statement. As a planner, I have seen the devastating effects that a bad DJ can have on an otherwise perfect event. Couples spend so much time, energy and MONEY making their day perfect and a bad DJ (usually hired to save just a little bit of money) can ruin the entire wedding! It's just not worth taking that chance. In the end, when it comes to the wedding reception, all that matters is that you can finally relax and enjoy yourself and celebrate with your friends and family!
